Middle School Library: Banned Books Week 2023-24 All Year Long

A challenged book is one that someone attempted to remove or restrict from a library collection. 

A banned book is one that has been removed from a collection. 

Challenges attempt to restrict others from accessing books. Challenging a book is a threat to other people's freedom of speech and choice. 

Catlin Gabel's libraries have various books that have been banned or challenged in other places across the country over the years. Below are a few from the Middle School Library that have been challenged, along with the reasons they were considered inappropriate.
