What are Banned Books?

A challenged book is one that someone attempted to remove or restrict from the collection. 

A banned book is one that has been removed from the collection. 

Challenges attempt to restrict others from accessing books. Challenging a book is a threat to other people's freedom of speech and choice.

Catlin Gabel's libraries have many titles that have been banned or challenged over the years. Here are a few Middle School Library books that have been banned, along with the reasons they were considered inappropriate.
